It was fully contained the same day. Tentatively started by a vehicle malfunction that also consumed the vehicle. Moke Hill Fire, CalFire and East Bay MUD fire responded along with 2 hand crews from Pine Grove Camp.

It is famous for the 20 Mule Team Borax wagons that once hauled this rare mineral from Death Valley in the late 1800s.
