Opening day of the 82nd Amador County Fair, Plymouth, Calif. opened with a Kids' Parade down main street and winding it way through town and to the Midway to open this year's event, Back in the Saddle Again after it's cancellation in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Leading the parade was Grand Marshall Janice Howard, long-time fair board member and who in her youth was a regular at the fair. The Mutton Bustin' preliminaries ran nearly 80 young children through the arena to pick the best ten rides for the finals during the CCPRA Rodeo on Saturday.
The Miss Amador Scholarship pageant continued the evening's events with six vying for much-needed scholarship funds. Heartless played on stage and was just many of several bands who played throughout the day.
