Celebrants gather on the steps of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church after Christmas Liturgy, January 7, 2013. ..St. Sava Church is the first in the western hemisphere and founded in 1894 by Serbian immigrants coming to American in the 19th century to seek their fortune and a better life. Many stayed and now the third and forth generations still cling to the customs of the old country while practicing the faith of Orthodoxy in the freedom of the USA.
