13th century fresco within the Church of Peter (Church of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul) built in about the 8th or 9th century upon the ruins of former churches was probably founded around 100 AD by a desciple of St. Peter. Archaeology evidence has found burials dating from the 5th century BC...In the 12th century, St. Sava, founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church was baptized here. The Church of Peter is probably oldest church in Serbia. It is located in Stari Ras near the city of Novi Pazar, Serbia.
