  • Bob Stewart and Rowena Neal enjoy fishing at Sportman's Beach at Walker Lake as a break from clean-up of their Fallon Ranch...This week no fish; last week two. Since the early part of the 1900s, Walker Lake has dropped many, many feet. Says Neal a graduate of Mineral County High School, Hawthorne, they used to catch seven pounders regularly. As the lake has dryed and gotten more salty, fewer and smaller fish...As Neal said, "The worst day fishing, is better than the best day at work."..Both Stewart and Neal are retired and travel with their fifth wheel trailer and fish a lot.
